Last week we had four cats. By the end of the week, we had one left. Our grumpy old neighbor had another poisoning spree. I wonder when he would change, that man. From what we've gathered, there were five casualties: two dogs from our neighbors and three of our cats. But what troubles us is the state of the one remaining. She is about a year old, still a kitten by age, and very close to her brother, mother and father, the ones who died. I believe when my father buried the carcasses, she wasn't around to know and sniff them goodbye. Now when we feed her, she always stops and looks around like she's expecting the others to come. She also cries differently and is constantly searching. It's very heartbreaking to see. So how do you help a grieving cat? Because I really wish she moves on sooner than later...
Coincidentally, I was reading London's White Fang and The Call of the Wild the time that our cats died. :(

Michael Province and the gang
I just love this kid! Ever since I saw him in the 3-part series The World's Greatest Musical Prodigies (although it only included 3 countries), along with composer Alex Prior, little pianist Zhang Xiaoming, violinist Simone Porter and cellist Nathan Chan who all seemed professional for their age, I've started looking for classical music, something I've always been deficient in.
Some of the kids Alex chose were not the best based on the auditions. Aristo was the better pianist and his improvisations were very impressive. But like Alex, I was drawn to Zhang Xiaoming. The program was an inspiring one nonetheless.

Turtle Sanctuary No More
Annie and I visited Davao's "Turtle Sanctuary" in Punta Dumalag to check the place out for her engagement shoot. Aside from a beautiful beach, we really expected turtles hehe. Too bad they don't come here anymore. The caretakers said it has been about three years since the turtles stopped coming to lay their eggs. Before that, they visit more or less three times a year. The mother turtle would lay her eggs, cover them, then go back to sea. After about four days, she would come back to check on the eggs. This routine happens until the eggs hatch and the baby turtles would follow their mother to sea. Sadly, because of orders from one government official, whenever there were eggs, they were transferred to some place else. Supposedly, said the gov't official playing expert, that's what the book says. Bad book!
UPDATE: 3/3/2017 As of 2016, the turtles are back! Yay!

This mangrove tree has a large hole on the other side. Sooner or later, it will be gone. :( |

Stuntmon - my first video :)
Starring my brother's jigglypuff, my sister and I made this little video last May. There were several takes because little jiggly kept missing the pillow. ^__^ This was the last take, then we decided to stop. I now really admire professional cameramen for their skills in adjusting lenses manually. I had a hard time keeping the focus consistent...
