lucky to catch the final light and water show for the day. It was so unexpected.

First time out of the country.
We arrived at noon but had to go out later in the afternoon after a heavy downpour.
The first place we visited was Mustafa in Little India and immediately, my mother and I noticed the underground passages across buildings.
Singapore is a city of underground shopping malls!

We stayed at a hotel in Geylang, a district that has so many bad connotations that we got a lot of "why are you staying there?" from taxi and van drivers.
That's too bad, because it's still a nice place.
